Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house that has a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home cash flow does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA nsfas status recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of income.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to click here wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
